CALIFORNIA GENERAL EDUCATION TRANSFER CURRICULUM CalGETC

The general education or breadth requirements are designed to give CSU/UC undergraduates a broad background in all major academic disciplines — natural sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, mathematics, humanities and visual and performing arts. This certificate fulfills lower-division general education requirements necessary for transfer and admission to both the California State University (CSU) and the University of California (UC). This certificate also fulfills the general education requirement for students at Madera Community College seeking to complete their Associate of Arts or Associates of Science degree. NOTE: This Certificate of Achievement will allow the student to complete the lower division general education required courses but does not meet all the requirements for transfer. A course or sequence of courses used to satisfy a requirement in one area may not be used to satisfy a requirement in another area. Students should check with a counselor and review the college catalog for further clarification. All courses must be completed with a “C” or better.
